How we collect and analyse Instantly.ai reviews
Our sources, our update cadence, what we do and explicitly do not do, and how to check our work.
What this site is
An independent aggregator of Instantly.ai reviews. We are not affiliated with Instantly.ai. We have not been paid by them to publish anything, and they have no editorial input or advance sight of what appears here. We do earn affiliate commission on signups through our links — see Disclosure.
Where the reviews come from
| Source | Items | What we take |
|---|---|---|
| G2 | 4,176 | Star rating, review title, an excerpt, reviewer name/role/industry/company-size as G2 publishes them, and G2's own verification and incentivisation flags. |
| Trustpilot | 1,164 | Star rating, title, excerpt, reviewer display name and country as Trustpilot publishes them. |
| YouTube | 228 | Video title, channel, publish date and thumbnail. Videos play here via YouTube's official embed; we do not host or re-upload video. |
| 189 | Thread and comment text discussing Instantly.ai. No star ratings exist, so these are classified by sentiment, not scored. | |
| 153 | Public post text and engagement counts, embedded via LinkedIn's official embed. | |
| Google Play | 114 | Rating and excerpt with a link to source. |
| SaaSworthy | 72 | Published review text. Excluded from our narrative analysis because it is largely syndicated from G2 and would double-count. |
| AppSumo | 65 | Rating and excerpt with a link to source. |
| App Store | 32 | Rating and excerpt with a link to source. |
| Blogs | 21 | Third-party written reviews — rating where the author gives one, plus a short excerpt and a link. |
| Software Finder | 10 | Rating and excerpt with a link to source. |
| Product Hunt | 2 | Rating and excerpt with a link to source. |
What we do not do
- We do not write reviews. Every review on this site was written by someone else on another platform. We have not used the product ourselves and do not pretend to have.
- We do not reproduce reviews in full. We publish a rating, a short excerpt, attribution, and a link to the original. If you want the whole review, we send you to the source.
- We do not generate reviews or ratings. Nothing on this site is written by AI pretending to be a customer. Our analysis pages are computed from the database, not composed.
- We do not mark up other people's reviews as our own ratings. We deliberately publish no
aggregateRatingstructured data, because we did not conduct these reviews and Google's guidance treats such markup as self-serving. - We do not filter out negative reviews. The 1-star reviews are indexed and browsable exactly like the 5-star ones.
How the analysis is produced
The figures on our analysis page are not typed in by hand. They are computed by a query against the review database each time the cache rebuilds, so they change as new reviews arrive. This means we cannot quietly leave a stale flattering number up: if the average falls, the page falls with it.
Theme analysis works by scanning the full text of every star-rated G2 and Trustpilot review for term patterns (for example, refund/charged/cancelled/billing), then comparing how often a theme appears in 1–2 star reviews versus 4–5 star ones. We report that comparison rather than the raw count, because a theme mentioned equally in both tells you nothing — and we say so on the page where that happens.
How the aggregate score is calculated
The headline score on the homepage (4.3 / 5 at the last recalculation) is the plain average of two numbers: our G2 average and our Trustpilot average, both computed from the star-rated reviews we hold. Nobody types it in; it moves when either average moves.
| Input | Reviews | Average |
|---|---|---|
| G2, indexed reviews (whole-star floor) | 4,173 | 4.76 |
| Trustpilot, indexed reviews | 1,164 | 3.83 |
| Aggregate = (4.76 + 3.83) ÷ 2 | 5,337 | 4.30 → 4.3 |
- Why each platform counts once. G2 holds 3.6× more reviews than Trustpilot. A review-count-weighted mean would be 4.56 and would let the platform with the most (largely incentivised, near-uniformly positive) reviews set the score. Equal weights keep the Trustpilot signal, where 25.6% of reviews are one star, visible in the headline number.
- What is excluded and why. Google Play and the App Store rate the mobile companion app, not the platform. AppSumo, Software Finder, Product Hunt and Tekpon have small samples; SaaSworthy syndicates G2 reviews and would double-count. Reddit, YouTube and LinkedIn carry no star ratings. None of these enter the aggregate. The YouTube and Reddit bars on the homepage score card are sentiment estimates, marked with an asterisk, and are not inputs either.
- Rounding. One decimal, half up. Because G2 half-stars are stored rounded down, the G2 input is a conservative floor; the exact-star subset averages 4.82, which would put the aggregate at 4.3.
- Trustpilot's own TrustScore is currently suspended by Trustpilot, so our Trustpilot input is the average of the 1,164 reviews we index, not a figure Trustpilot publishes.
Known limitations — read these
- G2 half-stars are rounded down. G2 permits ratings like 4.5; our star display stores whole numbers. G2's average here is therefore a floor, understated by roughly 0.1. We report the conservative figure and say so rather than inflating it.
- We do not have every review. Trustpilot caps how deep its public listing can be paged, so we hold 1,164 of its reviews, not all of them. Our G2 coverage is likewise the subset reachable through public listings.
- Our corpus is not a random sample. It is what is publicly reachable. Coverage skews toward more recent reviews, which matters when reading the year-on-year trend.
- Reddit, YouTube and LinkedIn items are not star-rated and are excluded from every average on this site, including the aggregate score above.
- Excerpts are truncated. A short excerpt can lose nuance. The link to the original is there for that reason.
Corrections
If a figure here is wrong, or you are a reviewer who wants your review removed from this index, email contact@instantlyaireviews.com and we will correct or remove it. We would rather be corrected than be wrong. Reviewer photos shown on cards are loaded directly from the source platform, so if you delete your photo there it disappears here too.
